Information

Location: Building of the "Conseil Général de Meurthe et Moselle", 48 rue du Sergent Blandan, 54000 Nancy (Quarter Nancy Thermal, 15 minutes on foot from the railway station, or take the tram).

Organisors: IM Christophe PHILIPPE from "Echecs54" and Conseil Général.

Main arbiter : Eric DELMOTTE (FIDE arbiter).

Type of tournament: Closed round robins tournaments with 10 players. 9 games on 7 days. Recognised by the FIDE (international chess federation) and FFE (french federation). See at the bottom of this page for the composition of the groups in 2010.

Time control: 1 hour 30 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes to finish the game (+30 seconds per move during the entire game) per player.

Corsica or Sofia rules : Draws by mutual agreement are forbidden.

Prizes for each tournament (except A and B) :
1. : 200 euros + trophy
2. : 120 euros
3. : 80 euros
4. : a chess book or chess lots.

Attention : A player not staying at the closing ceremony is renouncing to his prize.

Important: On the first day, each player has to leave a deposit of 50 euros to be returned on the last day after completion of the tournament. In the case of an unjustified departure from the tournament the deposit is not returned.

Meals

Apart from the many restaurants in Nancy, you have the possibility to eat in the restaurant of the Conseil Général (weekdays between 12 and 1.30 pm, full meal very cheap between 5 and 10 €). Closed on the week-end.
