Type of tournament: Like in former years, closed
round robins tournaments with 10 (or 8) players. 9 games on 7
days (or 7 games on 4 days). Recognised by the FIDE (international
chess federation) and FFE (french federation). See at the bottom
of this
page for the composition of the groups in 2009.
Time control: 1 hour 30 minutes for 40 moves
+ 30 minutes to finish the game per player (+30 seconds per move).
And 1 hour 30 minutes per player (+30sec) for the 8 players-4
days-groups.
Prizes for each tournament (except A and B) :
1. : 200€ + trophie (120€ for the 8 players-groups)
2. : 120€ (80€ for the 8 players-groups)
3. : 80€ (40€ for the 8 players-groups)
4. : a chess book or DVD (same for the 8 players-groups)
Important: On the first day, each player has to leave
a deposit of 50 € to be returned after completion of the
tournament. In the case of an unjustified departure from the tournament
the deposit is not returned.

Apart from the many restaurants in Nancy, you have the possibility
to eat in the restaurant of the Conseil Général
(weekdays between 12 and 1.30 pm, full meal very cheap between
5 and 10 €). Closed on the week-end.
